Cultural competence is a necessary and valuable skill for researchers who are working on sensitive topics. It is especially important to include cultural competence in research about the experiences of people in marginalized communities, because these experiences are often ignored or minimized. The first step is to develop an awareness of the range of experiences that are typically overlooked and to include cultural competence in your research design and analysis.
I don’t know about you, but I have an incredible history of being extremely culturally competent in my research. I’m the person who was hired by a local museum to work on the interpretation of the work of early 20 century artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Edvard Munch. I helped them create a website and to do research and write about their art. I also helped write about the history of the museum so that people could read about their work without feeling like they were being patronized.
It’s the same with cultural competence in research. You don’t want to be a bad researcher or a bad researcher manager. You want to be the best, but you also want to be the best researcher possible.
The thing is, I know that we have to be “best,” and that’s why I am a researcher manager. I am the one who trains the researchers and sets up the research process and ensures that the researcher stays engaged in his research. But I also want to be the best researcher possible. I want to be the best researcher that I can be. I want to do what I can to help others become the best researcher they can be.
To be the best researcher, you have to be an expert in your field. To be an expert, you need to know a lot about a specific subject. But to be an expert in your field, you also have to be able to use your knowledge (and confidence) in a wide variety of situations. To be the best researcher you can be, you also have to be able to deal with a wide variety of situations and challenges.
When I was trying to become a better researcher, I had to learn how to deal with both difficult and difficult things, and to be the best researcher I can be, I had to learn how to deal with different situations and challenges. It took me time to find a balance between being an expert researcher and being the best researcher that I can be.
