I have to say I am not sure this is in any way related to the game, but I just love the trailer. I don’t know what it is that I’m missing, but I feel like it’s something that needs to be told to everyone.

It could be that a lot of this is due to the fact that the game has a lot more detail than the standard trailer. The developers probably are trying to tell some story that you would expect to be told in a game like this, but in a much more detailed way.
